The story of building this website did not start in a tech lab. It started with a massive headache over a property deal. A few years back, we were looking at some land. The property dealer in Uttar Pradesh quoted the size in Pakka Bigha. But when we looked at the registry papers from a neighboring district, the measurement was written in Katha and Decimal.

We took out a smartphone and searched online to convert these units into standard Square Feet. To our absolute frustration, we found different websites giving completely different answers. One site said a Bigha was 27,225 sq ft, another claimed it was 17,424 sq ft, and the third one was buried under so many annoying pop up ads that it crashed the browser.
